If a person thinks about Northern Kentucky sports photography or Northern Kentucky video transfer, they may wonder what type of device was used to capture the images. Much of the population today has a digital camera to capture all their family events and special memories. These cameras have made a great deal of progress within the last ten years on what features they offer and the quality of the images they capture. A camera from five years ago may still work and produce nice images. However, if a person attempts to take the exact same picture with a camera made today, they will be shocked at the improvements in quality and all of the options on the actual device that help to manipulate lighting and capture the image.

Most cameras today have image playback as a standard feature located on the back on the camera. It provides a small screen in which a person can review, enlarge and show their images. It allows the photographer to see if the image is worth keeping or if they would choose to get rid of it. Having this feature not only allows someone to make sure the picture was taken well, it also saves time on the reviewing process as well. An example would be if a person captured an image, looked at it on the playback screen and realized someone’s eyes were closed. They could redo the shot over again until every in the image appeared correctly. In the meantime, the photographer could delete any unwanted pictures allowing for ample space for all the keepers.

A second feature is the various flash settings that most cameras now have. Before, the flash either went off when there wasn’t ample light or didn’t go off when the light was good. On more current cameras, there are flash settings that create variations of images. These settings provide a low amount of light for a warmer effect all the way up to a very bright flash to create the appearance of full sun in the background. There is also a red eye setting that provides two flashes, one short to adjust the eye followed by one slightly longer to provide the correct lighting for the picture.

A third benefit of newer cameras is the increase in the amount of internal memory they have to offer. Before, a person was limited to saving ten to fifteen photos in the memory located in the hardware of the actual camera. They needed to purchase pricey memory cards if they wanted to take and keep a lot more pictures. Cameras produced today give the owner the ability to save more images in the internal memory. This increase is beneficial for storage purposes and in cases where a photographer forgot their removable memory card.

The last benefit of digital devices made today versus five or ten years ago is the decrease in price. With the increase in technology, many companies have discovered simplierways to develop and improve these types of cameras. They have become less expensive to produce as the demand has grown. The combination of more companies making the cameras, improved knowledge on how to construct the cameras and increased sales has reduced camera prices.
